DAMASCUS BAKERIES is a 3rd Generation Bakery founded in 1930. We have three baking facilities: Brooklyn, New York, our history; Newark, NJ, our coprorate offices and primary bakery; Clifton, NJ, our newest and largest bakery, as well as our future R&D center.



We have a very strong- and even historic- presence in the Metro New York market as the premier baker of pitas, lavash, wraps and other flatbreads. Since 2000, we have expanded our capacity and distribution to the National Market, supplying and partnering with many of America#39;s top QSR#39;s, Casual Dining Restuarants, Food Service Establishments, Retail, Club and Natural Stores, Institutions, Distributors, and other Bakeries. For many of our customers, we have been the Flatbread Partner that has helped to create some of America#39;s most exciting, and delicious, sandwiches and pizzas.



In recent years we introduced Brooklyn Bred Since 1930, a retail brand for our retail products which include Pizza Crusts, Bistro Buns, Soft Bread Sticks, Focaccia and more. With the start up of our Clifton Bakery, we hope to expand our product line to include sweet and savory baked goods, snacks, culinary offerings.

We are seeking a self-directed, team-building LOGISTICS / INVENTORY COORDINATOR to help us grow in our Clifton Bakery.

  • Report to Director of Supply Chain and Materials Management





JOB FUNCTIONS:





  • LOGISTICS PLANNING AND SCHEDULING of all: Incoming deliveries of Materials and Ingredients
  • Incoming pickups of finished products, whether fresh pickups or frozen
  • Outgoing deliveries to final destinations;



  • Customer Service skills to track all incoming/outgoing deliveries, directly and independently communicating and problem solving with freight forwarders, logistics companies, and independent truckers wherever applicable;
  • INVENTORY CONTROL of all materials, ingredients and finished goods;
  • Meet regulalry and Operations, Supply Chain & Accounting Departments;
  • Must understand we are a 24/7 Operations which may require #39;hands-on#39; or remote participation during off hours;
  • Must be very #39;lean#39; minded, willing to source best consolidation opportunities and costs for outgoing trucking;
  • Must be adaptive to Company Computer Software’s;
  • Strict Adherence to Company Privacy and Security;
  • Experience or Knowledge of Food Safety and GMP#39;s a plus;





QUALIFICATIONS:



  • College degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Requires minimum of 5 years of experience in industry
  • Computer Skills a Must
  • ERP knowledge a Plus
