Responsibilities
- Support loan officers by preparing and organizing loan documentation, contracts, and disclosures in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and banking standards
- Assist with loan origination processes, including gathering borrower information, verifying credit reports, and performing basic credit analysis
- Coordinate with underwriters to facilitate smooth loan approvals by providing necessary documentation and clarifications
- Manage loan processing tasks such as data entry using 10-key typing skills, calculating escrow amounts, and reviewing TILA disclosures for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and mortgage servicing requirements during all stages of the loan process
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including inbound and outbound correspondence, escrow accounts, and contract files
- Support the loan officer team in adhering to banking policies, contracts, and regulatory standards related to mortgage lending
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Loan Officer Assistant or in a similar financial services role is not needed
- Knowledge of loan origination systems, credit analysis techniques, and basic math skills necessary for accurate calculations
- Strong organizational skills complemented by proficiency in 10-key typing and math fundamentals are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently
