<p>Patient Escort – Emergency Room</p> <p>(Part-Time) 22.5 /hrs.</p> <p>Jamaica Hospital Medical Center</p> <p>Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a proud member of the Medisys Health Network, is a 404-bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center.</p> <p>We are currently seeking Patient Escorts for immediate part-time assignments in our ER/Patient Escort Department to support patient transportation and assist with essential patient care needs.</p> <p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p>As an ER Patient Escort, you will play a vital role in safely and efficiently transporting patients throughout the hospital while ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced emergency care environment.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>Safely escort patients to and from various hospital areas, including exam rooms, labs, radiology, and treatment areas.<br /> Use wheelchairs, stretchers, and hydraulic stretchers to transport patients efficiently.<br /> Assist patients with transferring between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.<br /> Transport medical equipment, lab samples, and other necessary materials as needed.</p> <p><strong>Additional Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.</li> <li>Communicate effectively with nurses, doctors, and healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care.</li> <li>Provide basic patient support, including answering questions and ensuring their comfort during transport.</li> <li>Maintain accurate transport records, including pickup, arrival, and return times.</li> <li>Pick up and deliver reports, specimens, and patient care equipment as needed.</li> <li>Assist with patient discharges by coordinating transportation.</li> <li>Support post-mortem procedures by assisting with the respectful transfer of deceased patients.</li> </ul> <p class="job_tags">Tagged as: e..r., escort, transport</p>
